|04-11-2012 The Poznan Ice Sculpture Festval will not be organised this year|
One of the most interesting events in Poznan - the Ice Sculpture Festival - will not take place this december. The reason is simple - these are the economical problems in the city.
The Ice Sculpture Festival was the only such event in Poland and the biggest one in Europe. It took place yearly from 2006, so until 2011 six editions had been organised. Every year it gathered more than a dozen of sculpting teams from all over the world. The 2008-edition was a record one, as 15 teams from numerous countries took part in the Poznan Festival. Sculpturers had been always being watched by many tourists and Posnanians - usually between 8 and 10 thousand spectators!
